Though Henry and I spend a lot of time together as is, sometimes we spend it in the presence of friends and family so we kind of lack the QT with each other. Being in the same room with him on a Sunday while he watches football with his friend/brother/sister's boyfriend (like he did this past Sunday) does not count as spending time. Our Monday-Fridays are usually spent slaving away to something called work and then we make our way home to relax before we have to prepare ourselves for the next day. Half the weekend is gone with football Sundays. In an effort to spend quality time together we usually go on dinner dates.
This week I decided to do a day date with just the two of us, no friends, no family. Zoe had told me about the Pumpkin art and wine festival in Half Moon Bay. I thought it'd be a good idea for us to check it out and then have lunch at Sam's Chowder House.
I wanted to try some delicious pumpkin flavored foods, so I was excited. Also, Sam's Chowder has been a place that we've been wanting to try for a long time! One thing or another always came up and delayed our trip to this restaurant. We wanted that Lobster Roll!
It was a successful day date that ended with horrible traffic. Good thing we turned the other way and took Highway 1 instead!
I was stuck at this booth for awhile, reading all the funny placards they were selling. This was one of my favorites of the bunch!
Bomb diggity pumpkin goodies. We ordered one pumpkin muffin. They were so delicious we came back to buy 2 boxes (they were a big hit at the Tran's residents).
Look how big the pumpkin is and excuse the men's jacket. I had dressed as if it was summer...oops.

Strangers are never good picture takers. Wish she could have omitted the other family! Yay to Day Dates!
Check out the amazing pumpkin carving. Look at the details. Beautiful carving done by farmer Mike.
