vday; just another tuesday.

I've never been a big fan of this hallmark holiday, not to say I'm anti Valentine's day either.  I just think it's overrated, expensive and overly cheesy.  I don't care to be wined and dined at a nice restaurant on Vday, I don't care for huge bouquet of flowers, nor do I care about gifts on this ridiculous holiday.  Not only is it expensive to eat out, seems that most places only serve meals from a pre fixed menu.  I am not big on flowers, but it's nice to get them occasionally or when you least expect them.  On Valentines day, every other girl walking down the block is carrying a bouquet of flowers, ok maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but that's something that comes with the holiday.  I get that it's supposed to show appreciation to your significant other, but why does one have to show appreciation on February 14, why can't you show appreciation any other normal day?

What about for those who are single?  It just reminds them that they're alone.  I've been there before and it's miserable.  I hated being reminded that there was no one showing me appreciation with hallmark gifts.

Then there are those who have significant others who just don't do anything.  When you see others around you being showered with flowers, candies and gifts, I think you just get a little envious.

It's a horrible holiday that either makes some females super happy or super sad.  I've seen both sides and overall, it's a depressing holiday.

I'm definitely not complaining about my vday because it was great.  I'm pretty simple and easy to please on this hallmark holiday.  We did something low key, which is what I wanted.  Take out food from Kingdom of Dumpling and we went to watch The Vow, which I highly recommend.  It was a romantic comedy with some tear jerking moments.  Oh and Rachel Mcadams is gorgeous.

I was not expecting ANYTHING at all, but I got a nice surprise Vday gift and early Bday gift combined. It's definitely way too much.  <3

Currently feeling nauseous from an overload of gourmet chocolates from Dr. T as a Vday gift to all the ladies in the office.  They're so delicious I couldn't resist.  You know the way to my heart is with sweets!

Oh I also walked into an office filled with 8 dozen roses this morning. We could probably open our own flower shop.  The females in our office is highly admired <3  It was definitely nice to walk into an office filled with so many bright flowers!

Hope everyone had a wonderful February 14...either spending it with their loved ones, friends or family!

I also took my brother's dog for a walk today. Picked up her poo for the first time and encountered a few dogs. I must admit I was a bit nervous while out with her. I've never seen her interact with other dogs, so I wasn't sure whether or not I should let her get too close to them.  She's a really well behaved dog, but I wouldn't know how to react if another dog started attacking her.  I still have a slight fear of dogs and I don't think I'd be able to protect her if another dog attacked.  I'd probably run for my life and leave her hanging. haha!
