Hawaiian Fever

Maui Trip -5.04.11-05.09.11
A long overdue post!

I would have to agree with those who think of Maui as a great vacation spot for those who are seeking for tranquility.  My girlfriends and I planned a trip to Maui to attend our friends' wedding and squeezed in some vacay time as well.  This by far has been one of my most relaxing trips we have gone on together.  It was a good change to have.  For once we were not waking up super early in another time zone trying to visit tourist spots on checklist of things to do. Nor were we partying til the crack of dawn.  We got to relax to great scenery, soft Hawaiian sand, warm weather, our resort's infinity pool and each other's company.  With everyone's schedule being so busy, it's hard for us to get together for a drink/meal to just catch up.  Definitely a much needed breather from work and the hustling and bustling of the city life.  It's good to get away sometimes and this was just what I needed.  Have not a care in the world, lay by the pool, tan, lose track of time and just ENJOY!

A few snapshots from the trip...

Diana and I walking on the beach at the back of our resort.
Beautiful pic taken by the bff, Jenny.
I love this artsy pic taken by the BFF!
Relaxation to the fullest at our infinity pool overlooking the ocean!

There was a lily pond at our resort.  The lilies would close up when it got dark and opened up during the day. Love the beauty of nature.
Snorkeling. We loved it so much that we went Friday and Saturday morning! The water wasn't too deep and we were still able to see a lot of fishes. Beautiful.
After snorkeling and frolicking at the beach we squeezed in some photo ops. <3 my girls.
Bo and Ray's Wedding at the Four Seasons. Breathtaking!
Congrats to Bo and Ray!! <3
I got so dark from the sun that morning. Oops.

Ziplining with EcoAdventures! So much fun!

Not only did we have a great time there, we had some good eats too!

Day 1: Since we arrived late in the morning our first meal of the day was lunch at our hotel at Kuma bar and grill and dinner at Coconut's fish cafe
Day 2: Breakfast at Kihei Caffe and dinner at Cafe O'Lei Kihei
Day 3: Brunch at 808 Bistro, snack at lappert's ice cream and dinner at Sansei Seafood Restaurant Sushi Bar
Day 4: Brunch at Stella Blues Cafe, shaved ice at local boy snack shop and dinner at Bo and Ray's Wedding Four Seasons Resort Maui of Wailea
Day 5: Hula Grill

use and reuse

You go shopping for a reason.  Shop and buy something you'll use.  I am very bad at that. I sometimes go shopping, purchase something and never put it to use or I wait too long to use it. Sometimes, I'll buy something for full price to find months later that I still haven't worn it.  To top that off...it goes on sale too.  I really need to be better at using and reusing things that I own.  I still need to put my new michael kors watch to use. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Rosegold watch FTW=]

Project workout: So far, I've gone 2/3 days of this week! So proud. I've got to keep it up for Cabo and for my period's sake.

I've been cleaning and organizing Monday and Tuesday. Today, I'm having some me time to work on my blog and just bum around. Love it!

gluttony

Breakfast: La Boulange Pastries.  I had a sliver of everything!

Lunch: Pizza from Delfinas!

Dinner: Brocolli, spring roll, egg rolls and some bun rieu

If you don't call this a gluttonous day, I don't know what else you should call it.  I love food too much to give it up.  Good thing I went to the gym and worked out! Yay worked out 3 days so far this week! It makes me feel less sluggish! I'm proud!

summertime love

I had a productive evening spent at the gym and cleaning out junk in my room.  I really do have a lot of things I need to put to use!

After cleaning and clearing out some junk, I found a collection of brand new lipglosses!  I really need to start putting it to good use.  It's taken me two years to use up a tube of lip gloss...oh good luck to me. I might need to wear lipgloss everyday 3 times a day to use this all up! I definitely do not need any more lipglosses for awhile!

Nostalgic

Yesterday I got to catch up and have dinner with my college roomie!  We always go months without seeing each other, but can hang out for hours when we finally meet again.  It's funny bringing up people and memories from our college years! It's nice to be reminded of the past memories and laugh about them!

We went to Manna on Irving and 10th.  Again, there's meaning to this place.  There was this Korean restaurant in Davis called Manna that we used to go to.  Though it didn't resemble the place in Davis at all, I just thought it was funny to really bring ourselves back to the past.

Project Workout: Did not hit the gym at all (well I wasn't planning to).
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Chicken, melon and mushroom
Snack: Chocolate cupcake with no frosting from Andronico's and a quarter of a fuji apple
Dinner: Tofu Stew and Bibimbop
After dinner snack: tuttimelon mixed berry and pomegranate yogurt topped with mochi, kiwi and strawberry

Wearing the Swarovski bracelet Diana had gotten me for my birthday this year. Second time wearing it!

disorder to order

"Order and simplification are the first steps toward the mastery of a subject."- Thomas Mann Quotes

I've heard that the first step to have an orderly life is to first clean your room.  Only then will you be able to have a clear state of mind (the beginning of getting your life in order).

I must admit, my room isn't the neatest room, but my closet is very orderly.

Anyway, this week I'll be trying to organize and throw away unnecessary things in my room (clothing and junk included).  I hope this will allow me to know exactly where everything is.  The reason I'm starting this project is so that I can actually utilize all the things I have and own.  Over the years, I've accumulated a lot of gifts and items that I don't necessarily use.  I think this will be a good start for me to using up the things I already own instead of purchasing new items.  That way I can save money and stop accumulating junk!  I was also inspired by some blogs I've been following recently to actually use what I have...clothes/make up/and misc items I have!  I'll title it Project Wardrobe!

Look what I found!! A gift certificate to Slow Club for brunch.  Almost forgot I had this! Got it from AJ as part of my bday present this year!  If you know me, I love food! I'm excited to use this...perhaps this coming weekend.

Also, today marks the first day of another project I'm working on for myself.  I'm trying to work out, eat healthier and get toned for Cabo (if I can even go)/ Halloween and for my own well being.  I hope it's successful!!

Sorry if this post is out of order...I'm working on being orderly!!
