beach houses and sand dunes

Pismo Beach Trip 04.29.11- 05.01.11

Ed had invited me to Pismo Beach with a group of his friends- half from norcal and half from socal!  I had committed to it not realizing I had booked tickets to my friends wedding in Hawaii the weekend after.  I was feeling overwhelmed with so much going on, but I still went.

Anyhow, most of the group took Friday off from work to travel to Pismo Beach/ San Luis Obispo, which is about a 4 hour drive.  Since I had already taken time off for my Maui trip, there was no way I would take Friday off too.  Henry and I headed down there Friday after work, well after work for me at least since Henry took the day off.

It was a very organized trip (many thanks to Ed).  I loved how it was drama free and how everyone got along perfectly.  I only knew about a handful of people there, but it was not long before we were all friends, sitting together playing games!

As for food, we definitely checked out a few of the local's favorites and of course we were lucky enough to have my Big bro on the trip to recommend us places to check out.  He went to undergrad in San Luis Obispo and a big foodie, so we relied on his recommendations for food.  We ate good!

We all rode ATV's on Sunday and it was a lot of fun.  Yes, it was my first time as was a few other people.  I chose to ride the middle level ATV and could not handle it at all, so I had to down grade to a lower powered one.  I fell off a dune, while going way too fast on it.  As a result, I hurt myself with bruises and scratches when the impact of the ATV hit my thighs and underarm. I ended up with big fat bruises and a broken camera.  I was so sad because I had a Maui trip a few days later. Sigh, I guess I had to go on that trip with horrific looking bruises.

After getting the hang of this whole manual shifting thing, I upgrade my ATV back to the middle level one.  I was a lot more cautious and careful this second time around and I still had fun!

SLO is a nice town for a weekend getaway from the city.   It's not too far and the weather is nicer than foggy San Francisco.  Below are some pics from the trip!

looking badass! This picture was taken minutes before I dropped down a dune, breaking my camera! At least I found my memory card!
